Bald Head Island Golf Club was designed by George Cobb and opened in 1974. Our celebrated course plays through maritime forest, around freshwater lagoons and along a dune ridge, offering beautiful ocean views at every turn. Tim Cate led a renovation a few years ago, replacing acres of turf with natural areas and expanding vistas, accentuating the unique environment of a barrier island. The course features hundreds of sabal palms (the island is the northernmost point on the globe where these palms grow naturally). While playing, it’s not rare for golfers to spot deer, foxes, herons, egrets, ospreys, and the occasional alligator.
